About our Blankies

Tell me more about your blankies

The blanket is 100% cotton with a variety of weaves and colours to choose from. It is 80cm square approx. We add a wide satin rim containing the details you provide.

The edging is embroidered before we sew it on to the blanket, so your baby can enjoy the smooth satin on the reverse of the blankie.

Is the blanket machine washable?

Yes. We recommend a gentle wash at 40oC. The satin edge can be ironed on a warm setting. Although ironing the embroidery directly does not cause any damage, we recommend you iron it on the reverse side for best results.

Always refer to the care instructions on the blankie label.

Does the embroidery go right through the satin edge?

No. Your blankie is completely customised. We start from scratch by embroidering the satin edges and then attach them to the blanket you choose.


Making your blankie - some tips and hints

How do I know what colour blanket and thread will look good together?

We have put together a range of popular blanket and embroidery colour combinations for you to choose from. However, by visiting the Design your own section, you can choose combinations you do not find elsewhere on our site.

Why not look at our gallery of finished blankets to see some examples for inspiration. You may want to bear the following suggestions in mind when making your choice

There are so many fonts and icons to choose from - how do I know what will look good?

In our experience we have found that icons complement and bring life to simpler fonts. On the other hand, they can detract from the effect of a font with more features (such as curly bits and long tails.)

We have also found the same to be true with the choice of thread colour. Stronger, deeper colours bring out simpler fonts whereas softer colours are more suited to complex fonts and picture icons.

However, it is your blankie. Let loose your creativity.

What can I include in the text?

There are several themes to choose from.

During the order process, you will asked to fill in the baby's details and select a theme. We will then generate a preview text for you to review.

When choosing your theme, please bear in mind that there is a limit of 60 characters per side, including spaces. Some themes will accommodate more personal details (e.g. for instance longer baby names or hospital names) than others.

Please check the preview section carefully before continuing as mistakes cannot be corrected once the embroidery process has begun.

What if I realise I've made a mistake?

To avoid problems please check the information you provide carefully before submitting your order.

If you do realise you have made a mistake, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to help.

Unfortunately, if your blankie is already in production, we will not be able to amend your order.


Personal Details

What do you do with the baby's details I give you - are they secure?

We take your privacy seriously. The baby's details you provide us are used to create an embroidery file which, after being used for the embroidery process, is stored on our system for 3 months before being completely and permanently deleted.

The Order Process

I am buying a blankie as a gift for someone else - can you send the receipt to me separately?

If you wish to receive the receipt separate to the package, please provide separate billing and delivery addresses at checkout. The recipient receives only a delivery note, which does not contain any details of the price paid.

How long does it take?

Please allow 28 days for us to make your blankie. We do, however, aim to produce these much sooner.

Delivery by Royal Mail 1st class: 1-2 working days after production is complete. Please see our shipping page for more details.

Can I get my blankie any faster?

You can jump to the head of the queue by choosing the "Get it quick" option when ordering your blankie. Your order will be processed in 3 working days. There is an extra charge for this service.

We can also have your order sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day. This option can be chosen during the checkout process.


Postage and Packaging

How is the blankie packaged?

If you choose the standard packaging option we will roll up your blankie, tie it with a ribbon and then wrap it in tissue paper, before inserting into a plastic delivery bag.

If you buy a Gift Bag, after being rolled, tied and wrapped in tissue paper, we will insert your blankie into a co-ordinating fabric bag, with a ribbon tie at the top.

If you choose to add a soft toy, it will be rolled inside the blanket, with the head and arms peeping out. View the gallery for examples.

I am buying a blankie as a gift for someone else - can you send the receipt to me separately?

As your payment will be made online via Worldpay, you will receive an electronic receipt by email. The recipient receives only a delivery note, which does not contain any details of the price paid.

How is the blankie delivered?

Returns

Can I return my blanket if I change my mind?

Because your blankie is personalised, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds simply because of a change of mind.

However, in the unlikely event of a manufacturing defect, we will happily offer you a replacement or refund. Please contact us BEFORE sending the blankie back.

Gift Vouchers

Purchasing Gift Vouchers

  • Gift Vouchers are purchased from the Gift Voucher section just like any other item in our store.
  • Pay using the store's standard payment method(s)
  • The value of the Gift Vouchers will be added to your own personal Gift Voucher Account
  • Once confirmed by the store, the amount shows in the My Account page.
  • There you will be provided with a link to a page where you can send a Gift Voucher to someone via email.

Sending Gift Vouchers

  • To send a Gift Voucher go to My Account and follow the link for Send Gift Voucher.
  • Here you can specify your recipient and how much you wish to send them. You will need their email address.
Note: You don't have to send the full amount that is in your account.

Activating Gift Vouchers received by email

When you receive a gift voucher by email, you can redeem (activate) it in two ways:

  1. By clicking on the link within the email. This will take you to the store's Redeem Gift Voucher page. You will be requested to create an account, before the Gift Voucher is validated and placed in your Gift Voucher Account.
  2. During step 2 of the checkout process, there will be a box to enter your Redemption Code. The code will be validated and the amount added to your Gift Voucher Account.
You can now use the amount to make your purchase.

Buying with Gift Vouchers

  • Once the value of your voucher appears in your account, you can use those funds to purchase other items in our store.
  • You can chose how much of this value to spend during step 2 of the checkout process
  • Any excess balance will be left in your account for use in the future- there is no expiry date.
